Science+Fiction Dialogue 2014

„Brave New World“

A society based on artificial happiness at the cost of freedom – this is the core of the vision of Aldous Huxley in his novel „Brave New World“ (1932).

In our time of virtual worlds, genetic engineering, artificial drugs and a worldwide electronic monitoring and cotrol the question rises: Has reality in the year 2014 gone beyond Huxley‘s visions for the year 2058?

  • Can imagination go beyond reality?
  • Will a brave new world be possible on another planet?
  • Does genetic engineering lead to a better mankind?
